Garnet

A large gems’ family of chemical composition and varying density. It comes in a variety of severals colors and hues. The main varieties are Pyrope, Almandin, Spessartite, Grossular, Andradite and Uvarovite. But the frequent mixity of some of theses categories give rise to other terms such as Rhodolite, Hessonite, Malaya. The Tsavorite belongs to the grossular’s subfamily and the Demantoïd to that of Andradites. Apart from the Demantoïd which can be heated, the garnets are not treated cause the result is ineffective. Hardness from 6,5 to 7,5 on the Mohs scale.
