Tourmaline

Gem’s family of chemical composition and of varying hardness which goes from 7 to 7,5 on the Mohs scale. Almost all colors and hues are present. The famous Paraïba Tourmaline is very rare prized which is of a beautiful electric blue. Tourmalines come mainly from Brazil, Madagascar, eastern and central Africa (Tanzania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Congo,…). Tourmalines undergo sometimes a heat treatment at low temperature.
